@ Sheeni: I can appreciate how much you hated being a nursing assistant. There are worse jobs. Being an RN who actually wants to take excellent care of the patient is the job I finally gave up. Ten years of trying every hospital in town from pediatric critical care to nursing home care left me injured both physically and mentally.

Families call you on the carpet nearly every day looking for details of their loved one’s progress and plan of care. Most days it’s all you can do just to deliver care in a timely manner, and you just pray that you don’t make a huge mistake.

Hi there,
I just came across your website and shit, that’s rough. I used to be a nursing assistant (just sent in my resignation letter a few days ago actually) and am convinced that there are fewer worse jobs out there than that, especially when you give a shit about patients. I see the last update was close to a year ago and hope you’re doing well and just got sick of the internet or something.
